My Favorite Smoothie Recipes

Smoothies have been a staple part of my diet for years now!

They were a big part in the ease of my transition to a plant based,

vegan diet back in college.

It took me so many years to fully commit myself to veganism because

I LOVED BREAKFAST!

French toast, eggs, pancakes, waffles, omelettes, pastries...

I convinced myself I wouldn't be able to enjoy breakfast without those foods.

That was until I realized how fucking amazing smoothies can be.

They are convenient, nutrient dense, filling,

and can be make in endless different ways.

I still, to this day, have not gotten sick of smoothies

(but let be real, has anyone?!)

Breakfast seems to be the biggest concern of others

who have reached out to me for help during their transition.

So i'm here to share some of best, kickass

(but still totally kind + compassion) smoothies i've had.

Smoothies don't only have to be for breakfast.

They are perfect before workouts, after workout, snacks, lunch, and dessert.

I'm even one to eat smoothie bowls for dinner every once in a while too

So, I've composed a list of my favorite smoothies recipes

that i've created throughout the years...

No refined sugar, dairy, artificial sweeteners, or any of that crap!

Just fresh, simple, whole, and plant based ingredients.

let's get blendin'

note: when I say tablespoon thats just a rough estimate for the idea of how much I use. I never measure my stuff. Use as much or as little as you'd like!

also, liquid will vary depending on a few things: first, the blender you are using (for powerful, highspeed blender you can use less liquid!) and second, what your taste preference is (If you are looking for thinner smoothies, add more liquid!).

BASIC BANANA -

my "go-to", simple, fresh, high in potassium, 40% daily value of B6, cinnamon speeds up metabolism.

2 medium sized frozen bananas

tablespoon maca powder

dash of cinnamon

teaspoon hemp

teaspoon chia

GREEN POWER HOUSE!-

sweet + nutrient dense - This smoothie has it all! Spirulina contains 50-70% protein by weight, and also contains all of the amino acids. Both Spirulina and Chrollea are heavy metal detoxifiers, and contain B12 (which is important to vegan diets since B12 is commonly found in animal products solely).

1 frozen banana

1/2 cup pineapple

handful spinach

tablespoon chrollea

tablespoon spirulina

tabelspoon maca

tablespoon sunfood vanilla protein powder

1/4 cup almond mylk

the childhood-

simple & perfectly sweet. Who didn't love this smoothie as a kid?! Strawberries contain Anthocyanins which give them their bright red color. Anthocyanins help burn stored fat, and also boost short term memory. Strawberries are also filled with biotin, which helps build strong hair and nails

dash of vanilla bean

1/4 cup almond mylk

1/4 cup ice

ACAI -

tropical & fruity - ah, acai bowls! best enjoyed by the beach & barefoot. This smoothie is the perfect base for building a bowl of your own topped with granola, banana coins, and fresh strawberry.
